Nam Phon, an elderly elephant at the WFFT that I wrote about earlier has passed away. The WFFT wrote a very touching eulogy for her that I’ll link to here. It reminds me why I’m doing this. From the time I was born until very recently, Nam Phon was working in logging and tourist camps. As I enjoyed what civilization had to offer, she was enslaved by it. Reflecting on her life makes me want to work harder until a day comes when girls like Nam Phon don’t face a life like hers.
